The term ‘University’ is used in this sense
as a collective of people devoted to sharing social, leisure and creative
activities.
The Dukeries Third Age Group (Registered Charity No: 1118205) is one
of over six hundred groups throughout Britain.

The Dukeries group provides opportunities for people in the Third
Age (no longer in full time paid employment) who want to improve the
quality of their lives by sharing social, leisure and intellectual
experiences with like - minded people.

Statement
To advance the education of the public and particularly the education
of the middle-aged and older people who are not in full time gainful
employment. The provision of facilities for leisure time and recreational
activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for
the above persons in the interests of their social welfare.
